Parcel One:
• Canadian Natural Resources:
o Three sites totaling $8,750. One designated “active” $3,000. Two under
reclamation notice $5,750.
Parcel Two:
• Baytex Energy:
o One site designated “active”- $4,800.
• Canadian Natural Resources –
o One site designated “active” - $2,000.
• Pismo Energy / Brevet –
o Twelve orphaned leases, originally with Pismo, now Brevet.
o Surface lease rentals can be recovered once it is clear the operator did not pay
by the landowner applying to the Land & Property Rights Tribunal using a
“Returning Recovery of Compensation” form for each lease.
o The LRPT checks land titles to ensure who is currently on title in question,
approves the application, then directs the Government of Alberta to pay the
landowner.
o An on-site inventory was taken by the Orphan Well Association in August 2025.
This is a step towards the eventual reclamation of all the sites.
o Last twelve months of revenue due was $48,370 however not all has been
received at this time.
o Surface lease revenue from all sources is $55,170.
